Course description

DUAT is a five-week intermediate course presented by Spirit Medium David Traynor, exploring the fascinating spiritual beliefs, mythology and afterlife traditions of Ancient Egypt.

Throughout the course, you will discover how the Ancient Egyptians understood death, resurrection and the continuation of the soul, while exploring the Duat, the realm through which the deceased was believed to journey.

David will introduce significant Egyptian gods, their symbolism and their roles within ancient beliefs, alongside an exploration of texts commonly known today as the Egyptian Book of the Dead.

Guided meditation and spiritual exercises will invite you to explore these traditions from a modern spiritual perspective and consider the symbolism and insight they may hold for your own development.

DUAT combines historical spiritual traditions, personal exploration and mediumistic development to create an unusual journey into one of the ancient world's most enduring belief systems.

Requirements

A good basic understanding of psychic or mediumistic development
Previous experience of meditation
Some experience or awareness of communicating with Spirit
Ideally, completion of David's First Connections foundation course or equivalent experience
A computer, tablet or smartphone capable of joining Zoom
A reliable internet connection
The Zoom app installed before the first session
A quiet and comfortable space suitable for meditation
A pen and notebook or journal for notes and personal reflections
Headphones are optional but may help during guided meditation
A willingness to participate in meditation, reflection and spiritual development exercises
Attendance from Week 1 is strongly recommended as each week builds upon previous learning

DUAT is designed as an intermediate course. You should already have some experience of meditation and a basic understanding of psychic or mediumistic development. David's First Connections course, or equivalent experience, provides a useful foundation.

Not necessarily. First Connections is the recommended progression route, but students with equivalent previous experience may also be suitable for DUAT.

Each week builds upon the previous week's learning, so regular attendance is strongly recommended. Where available, playback material may be provided to help you catch up before the following session.

No. Because the course follows a progressive five-week structure, students should begin with Week 1 rather than joining part-way through.

The course is delivered live online using Zoom, with one session each week for five weeks.

Students who complete the course and successfully answer the required course questions can receive a certificate of completion.

No. Meditation and spiritual development are personal experiences and can differ considerably between individuals. There is no expectation that every participant will experience the same imagery, sensations or impressions.
