Yes. The course starts with the foundations and requires no previous experience of meditation.

That's completely fine. Meditation does not require you to completely stop thinking. The course explores practical ways of working with distractions and returning your attention to the meditation.

No. Although David introduces some spiritual approaches including chakras and life-force energy, you can participate in the meditation and relaxation exercises regardless of your personal beliefs.

No. The Tranquil Mind is open to everyone.

No. Comfort is more important. You can meditate sitting in a supportive chair if that is more suitable for you.

Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to sit and relax without unnecessary distraction.

That's not a problem. Meditation develops with practice, and individual comfort and concentration levels vary.

Meditation and relaxation practices may help some people feel calmer and provide useful time away from everyday pressures, but the course is not a treatment for anxiety, panic or other health conditions.

No. The Tranquil Mind is a wellbeing and meditation course and should not replace medical or mental health advice, diagnosis or treatment where this is needed.

Chakras are energy centres described within several spiritual traditions. David introduces chakra awareness as part of his spiritual approach to meditation.

You are encouraged to practise between sessions. Even relatively short periods of regular practice can help you become more familiar with the techniques explored during the course.

The course is delivered live online using Zoom, with one session each week for four weeks.

Regular attendance is recommended. Where playback support is available, this may help you catch up before the following session.

Students who complete the course and successfully answer the required course questions can receive a certificate of completion.
